Trends editorial director, Paul Taylor looks at Matthew Quinn and Ric Parrish’s Master Bathroom.

Mary Kathryn Timoney has been a premier kitchen designer with Design Galleria since 1999. A member of NKBA with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from American Intercontinental University, Mary Kathryn has been published in Better Homes & Gardens, Kitchen Trends, Beautiful Homes, Veranda, and various other design publications. She was the Grand Prize winner in Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles’ 2011 Kitchen of the Year contest and 2003 Bath of the Year contest, and winner of their 2006 and 2008 Kitchen of the Year contests. When not engaged in her labor of love, Mary Kathryn, her husband Paul, and their son, Neil, can be found indulging in the outdoor activities and home remodeling projects.

Never one to let obstacles like lack of experience, connections, or financial resources stop her, Laurie kick-started her career in Michigan in 1994, cutting her teeth in the world of kitchen design under the tutelage of a local general contractor with whom she gained additional detailed knowledge of construction processes and materials.  Eight short years later, she moved her three children and two dogs down to Atlanta to join the team at Design Galleria Kitchen & Bath Studio, and the rest, as they say, is history.  In her years with the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center and Design Galleria, Laurie has more than made up for lost time and credits her success to the creative inspiration of her coworkers and the support and love of her family.

“I enjoy cooking and spending time in the kitchen and believe that helps me in the technical aspect of design.  My love for art and international travel draws me into making the kitchen beautiful.”

Her enthusiasm and energy extend to her hobbies of triathlons, adventure travel, and hiking.

Graduating from Western Carolina University with her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Kelly began her career as a project manager before joining the team at Design Galleria Kitchen & Bath Studio as a design technical engineer working under designer Laurie Lehrich.  From there, she became an integral and foundational member of the Matthew Quinn Collection showroom, independently creating relationships with over forty separate hardware manufacturers and paving the way for the Matthew Quinn Collection to establish itself as one of the premiere distributors of fine decorative and architectural hardware in the Southeast.  With pieces displayed on acrylic bases in low, wide drawers lined in soft fabric, the Matthew Quinn Collection is a jewelry box, organized and tended by Kelly’s own thoughtful hands.

It is common knowledge that Kelly is an unmatched dance partner, particularly at weddings, and has a loyal canine friend by the name of Louie whose taste in all things kitchen and bath is almost as elegant and romantic as Kelly’s own.

Lou Guerra received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from St. Mary’s University and is licensed as a CPA in both Texas and Georgia.  After working as a public accountant for Ernst & Whinney, he joined the operations team of one of the prominent companies headquartered in San Antonio at the time, Church’s Chicken.  During his tenure there, Lou obtained the human resource talents of recruiting, training, development of staff; marketing talents for local and national campaigns, financial talents for budgeting, forecasting, and goal setting.  He later transferred out of operations and reentered the financial side of business, where he was able to use what he learned in operations and provide valuable financial analysis to executive level management teams to help grow business through the use of budgets, forecasts, cash flow and debt management, cost control, staff and operating efficiencies, compensation structures, and risk management.  After Church’s Chicken, Lou continued his career as a member of the finance teams of two other well-known restaurants, Ruby Tuesday and Domino’s Pizza.  Following many years of restaurant operations and finance, Lou worked as an income tax professional with two local Atlanta tax and accounting firms, specializing in individual and small business taxation.  When not at working, Lou enjoys reading, exercising, social adventures with friends, traveling, and never-ending home and garden projects.

Dusty received his Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  After relocating to Atlanta in 2005 he worked for both an interior design firm and a kitchen and bath design firm. He joined the Design Galleria team in February 2007.

As Director of Business Development, Dusty is involved in multiple facets of the Design Galleria operational structure.  He works closely with all the DG team members on client relations, quality control standards and interoffice policy.  Additionally, he has recently taken over the management of Design Galleria’s growing luxury, multi-unit development business including the residences at the St. Regis, Atlanta.

Having an unwavering commitment to Design Galleria and its clients, Dusty is an integral part of the company’s success.  While he is always looking towards the future, he never forgets to ensure the success of the present.
